The teens were startled into waking up with an ear-splitting reveille, signifying the beginning of their military exercises. The 505th Search and Rescue Squad of the Philippine Air Force led by Capt. Cecilia Bernabe were invited in the house to help prep the teens for their upcoming big island adventure. Teamwork, camaraderie and discipline, among other important values, will be taught to them. There was no room for a wimpy attitude, and the officers soon put a stop to over-sensitive aches and pains. Neither was there space for smart-alecky remarks, not even Shy’s arrogant snubbing of the officer’s authority. During the physical training, Nikki complained that she had trouble breathing. After a quick assessment, the officers dismissed her complaints and she had to go on. Andy hyperventilated and her muscles froze, prodding the officers to carry her off to a side and help her regain sensation in her numbing extremities. Alex was made to repeat saying “Sir, yes, Sir!” until he said it firmly enough. After, the teens broke into three teams to clean the house. Part of the survival skills were time management and cooking using available resources. The teens learned how to start a fire and cook their own simple food. Of course, they had to keep neat appearances, and one way of ensuring this was by having their boots well-shined. They also had to move quickly, and even their baths were done in double-time.
The Captain told Priscilla off for being lax. She was expected to cope, and no one was about to baby her. Too tired, Priscilla wanted out, not only of the military exercises, but of the PBB experience altogether. She approached Kuya to grant her exemption from physical activities, but Kuya reminded her that she cannot choose which tasks she wanted to participate in while the other housemates were working hard at it. Andy, too, was affected to the point of crying. She figured it was due to her still adjusting to the new environment, then the shock of rigid tasks.
The original House Player, Shy, chose to fall out of ranks. Kuya called her in the Confession Room to call her attention to her lack of respect for authority. Shy explained that she wanted out. Kuya urged her to see things through, explaining that it has only been a week and she needed to fully experience being inn the house. Shy was adamant: she wasn’t enjoying anymore and wanted to be in familiar surroundings with familiar people. In the end, Kuya accepts her voluntary exit and the rest of the housemates weren’t able to see her again.
Mican Ong, the new House Player ng Bayan, entered the house early this morning. His first task was to be seen preparing breakfast for them. He was one of the 30 teens, known only as My Big Love, who was given the key but didn’t make the final cut. Still, destiny led him inside. It’s a good thing that Andy had someone to help her accomplish the tasks, especially since Kuya wasn’t particularly impressed with her execution of her first. To guide her, Kuya gave specific instructions on how to be clumsy with Robi: spill coffee on his back, throw a drink in his face and step on hid big toe. Next task would be to make Ejay (winning 31.77% of the votes) happy. Up for decision would be to decide which housemate will wake up to multi-colored nail polish. Will it be Rona, Priscilla, Val or Alex? It’s your call, Kapamilya! Make sure you stay glued to updates because this week is the guardians’ last week in the house. Daily tandem tasks will be given to make the most of it, which started with last night’s pageant, and their stay will be capped with the Guardians’ Big Night on Sunday.
