"funky" makeover

March 19, 2008 5:33 PM

In a house blessing held last Friday, March 14th, Business Unit Head Laurenti Dyogi and entire Pinoy Big Brother team welcomed special guests to view redecorated interior of the house. Upon the entrance to the living room, guests were instantly greeted by the bright colors on the walls. The furniture and accessories reflect the burst of color which ranged from purple to lime green. The living room is now much spacious than before, perfect for the lively and energetic teens who willbe residing there in a few days.

In the boys' bedroom, the beds are now separated from one another, while the beds in the girls' bedroom are now aligned head against the wall unlike the round position of the two previous seasons. Also, a wide glass wall now separates the interior of the house and the outside pool area, thus, the housemates and even the viewers will have a bigger view of the house from whichever camera. Furthermore, an "island" type of cooking facility was introduced to enable the housemates to face and interact with one another while doing different chores in the kitchen.

Designers Jezer Manucdoc and Aissa Sta. Maria, graduates of the Philippine School of Interior Design, gladly shared how they came up with the concept for the new house. Chezer and Aiz, who were part of the PSID student design team for Season 2 and Celebrity Edition 2, generally described the house's current look as "funky Moroccan." Aiza revealed that they particularly chose bright colors to match the personality of the teen housemates who will be spending their summer inside Kuya's house. Chezer, on the other hand, said that changing the look of the pool was crucial since during this hot summer season, the pool will be frequently used by the housemates.

But what remains a mystery until now is the updated look of the confession room. It seems that Big Brother still wants to keep the appearance of the "heart" of his house a major secret to many of his viewers. The new confession room together with the identities of the 12 official teen housemates and the other "pluses" are bound to make this summer one to remember.
