Spanish father and son choose to leave

April 25, 2008 3:43 AM

Earlier this week, Ejay and Valerie were tasked to piece together a cup that they had broken --- with their hands tied together. Kuya wanted to teach them the value of teamwork and cooperation, and how each move they make affects another. It took them two days to accomplish the task, and when it was done, they find the cup glued to the table. For the second time, it broke into pieces as Ejay tried to pry it off. Kuya gave them 10 minutes to get it back to the Confession Room in one piece, or else all teens were doomed to stay in the small house for the duration of the season. With some help from the other teens, the couple accomplished their task and earned the right for all teens to move back to their original quarters. They had to move back in 5 minutes (similar to the 30-second rule given to Beauty and Luis), so with screams and giggles, the teens scrambled back to the main house. In the midst of all the excitement, Kevin announced that he was exiting that night.

Set in his decision, Kevin gave a piece of his mind in the bull session mediated by Robi that evening. Robi gathered the teens in the living room. The bull session was a forum where all could express themselves and lay down their personal ideas to all. Here, Kevin finally expressed his disappointment in Jolas, who was not doing chores. Being on the defensive, Jolas flared up, feeling that Kevin was making a big issue out of a petty thing. Rona and Robi remind the group that this session wasn’t about them; that for now, they should put personal issues aside and act as one. Quite the opposite of the norm, it was now the young who were being asked to resolve the growing conflict between the guardians. Kevin, however, still had several concerns, plus a gnawing feeling that the others didn’t like him. He retreated to the room in tears and asked to be left alone, but the teens stayed and comforted him. Nikki reminded him not to decide in haste, Rona assured him that all will adjust to each other eventually, and Beauty offered him a comforting hug. Later, Robi again talked to the boys and reminded them that, generally, they were happy. He then proceeded to get the cooperation of the feuding boys to retain the peace and remember that, in Kuya’s house at least, they were a family.
Daddy John had a serious talk with Kuya, explaining that he was already tired of all the friction and so was Kevin; both wanted out. He stressed, though, that he learned a lot and saw how Kevin was such a man for sticking to his principles, making his son his hero. PBB was one of life’s best experiences and that he only had high respects for Kuya. His sentiments were echoed by Kevin, who was then called in. Father and son shared the same feelings and relief was obvious in both as they mutually decided to voluntarily exit the house. Kuya clarified the decision and agreed, but their exit was to be postponed until Saturday. Meanwhile, they should try to strengthen the bond of friendship in both houses, an effort that had to be both seen and felt by the housemates. Once alone with Kevin, Kuya asked the lad’s personal feelings about exciting, and again, he remains unwavering in the decision to leave and is actually happier for it. Daddy John requests that he be able to come to terms with Josef and to be given the chance to cook a meal for both households on Friday night.

Both Spaniards were in high spirits as they go back to their respective households. However, some housemates were quite skeptical. No one knew about their exit plans yet. Beauty and Josef couldn’t understand Kevin’s sudden change of mood. Tita Anna assumed that the hair cutting sacrifice was Daddy John’s idea. She felt that it was primarily Kevin’s fault for not giving in to circumcision and Daddy John’s revenge to cut Josef’s hair in such a fashion.
